Song Lyrics (for Bulletin items, scroll further down)
THIS IS OUR GOD
Verse 1:
God our Father, full of power
Maker of the heavens, Maker of the world
Forming all things seen and unseen
Truly the Almighty, beyond all measured worth
Holy is His Name
Chorus:
We believe the Lord our God is One
Father, Spirit, Son, this is our God!
We believe forever He will reign
So, let the church proclaim: this is our God!
Verse 2:
Our Lord Jesus sent to save us
Born unto a virgin lived a perfect life
Greatly suffered dying for us
From the grave He’s risen seated now on high
Holy is His Name
Bridge:
Jesus will come back again
to judge the living and the dead
Usher in the age to come,
Let everyone sing “Amen!”
Verse 3:
Spirit holy, One in glory
Speaking through the prophets, empowering the Church
Life is given by and through Him
With the Son and Father worshiped and adored
Holy is His Name
SCRIPTURE RESPONSIVE READINE – Psalm 116
Leader:
I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for
mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as
I live. The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on
me; I suffered distress and anguish.
All:
Then I called on the name of the LORD:
“O LORD, I pray, deliver my soul!”
Leader:
Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; our God is merciful.
The LORD preserves the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me.
All:
Return, O my soul, to your rest;
for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.
Leader:
For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my
feet from stumbling. I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
I believed, even when I spoke: “I am greatly afflicted”; I said in my alarm, “All
mankind are liars.”
All:
What shall I render to the LORD for all his benefits to me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD,
I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.
Leader:
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
O LORD, I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant.
You have loosed my bonds.
All:
I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of
the LORD. I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people, in
the courts of the house of the LORD, in your midst, O Jerusalem.
Praise the LORD!
THIS IS MY FATHER’S WORLD
Verse 1:
This is my Father’s world,
And to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world:
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought.
Verse 2:
This is my Father’s world,
To this world my Father gave
His only Son, the incarnate One,
Our sinful souls to save.
This is my Father’s world,
There are none who match His love
For our Lord Jesus great and glorious
The Gift from our Father above.
Verse 3:
This is my Father’s world,
O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world,
The battle is not done.
Jesus who died shall be satisfied
And earth and heaven be one.
BLESSED ASSURANCE
Verse 1:
Blessed assurance Jesus is mine
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood
Chorus:
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
Verse 2:
Blessed redemption, accomplished and free
Sins all forgiven through Jesus for me
Since He has carried all burdens away,
Now I am waiting for his glorious Day
Verse 3:
Blessed assurance through every day
Jesus is Master to the wind and the waves
Trial or blessing, whatever shall be
Jesus is Master and Lord over me
Verse 4:
Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blest
Watching and waiting, looking above
Filled with His goodness lost in His love
BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD ABOVE
Verse 1:
Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is Love
Whoever lives and pleads for me
My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in heav’n He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart
Verse 2:
When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end to all my sin
Because the sinless Saviour died
My sinful soul is counted free
For God the Just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me
Verse 3:
Behold Him there the risen Lamb
My perfect spotless righteousness
The great unchangeable I Am
The King of glory and of grace
One with Himself I cannot die
My soul is purchased by His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God
With Christ my Savior and my God

Christian Worldview Workshop
How do you faithfully follow Christ in a culture that increasingly rejects a biblical and objective view of truth, identity, family, and human flourishing? You need more than good intentions. You need to know what you believe, why you believe it, and how to apply biblical truth to the questions shaping our culture. That’s why the Church Ambassador Network (CAN) and Family Research Council (FRC) invite you to a Christian Worldview Workshop designed to equip you to think biblically, communicate clearly, and live faithfully in today’s culture. This workshop will be hosted by Crossway and will take place on Thursday, October 29 from 8:30am-4pm. Registration is open now (use code Crossway10 for 25% off!).
